Down, down, down...

My dear Dee Khang was staying at home with mahmmy today.

He had high fever on Fri evening. I could feel his feverish body when i picked him up after class on fri afternoon. But I thought that could be due to the weather, the humidity, the heat. He was still as active, still as alert, still as playful when he came back home. I brought him out for dinner that evening at Compasspoint SC, and I began to suspect his condition when he refused his favourite miso soup. He had taken only a bit of rice, had a bite of the breaded prawn, and stopped eating then. When i brought him to the toilet, he could only pee a drop of urine. I brought him to the kid's toilet thinking that might 'motivate' him to clear his bladder. What happened thereafter was his pee hit his shorts & sandals. At that juncture, i scolded him. He looked upset...I felt equally sad for scolding him...Then, we went to Fox's to get him a new pair of shorts. While i was getting him to try the shorts, he urinated in the changing room. Shocking, shocking, shocking...I remember the earlier episode, so i did not say a word. I took his wet shorts, quickly wiped off the puddle, put on the new pants, opened the door, went straight to the cashier, left Fox's, hailed a cab, left for home. By then, i could feel his body getting more feverish.

His temperature hit 38.7. I called pappy, wanted to tell him that I would meet him at Mt A. He was on his way home, so i quickly packed his milk, took an extra set of clothes, off to the hospital. Joshuaboy looked tired and ill in the car. His temperature was 39. The doctor told us that could be due to viral infection.

His fever did not subside on Sat morning. We continued to monitor his condition. We were supposed to go for a play at the Esplanade, together with 2 of his classmates & mummies.

His condition improved on Sat afternoon, and on Sun morning he looked much better. Pappy decided to bring him out as he promised to buy more tracks for his trains. However, his temperature went up to 37.1. After buying the tracks, after attending mass, we headed home.

This morning, he looked so well & alive. Fever was gone, noise was back...hee...

puzzles, puzzles & puzzles...

Joshuaboy has been doing a lot of puzzles lately. He can complete a set of 48-piece puzzles on his own. More challenging ones on the way...pappy is going to order a 100-piece Thomas & Friends puzzle from amazon.com...

I remember i introduced puzzles to him after he turned 2. I remember i stopped doing puzzles with him after a while, the reason i can't recall. Then, last June, i re-introduced to joshuaboy after buying a set of 24-piece hungry caterpillar puzzle. I remember we went to mcdonald's after the purchase, and opened up the box shortly after settling down, and then we started joining pieces & pieces, eagerly to see the final outcome. Joshuaboy was very excited when we had finished. I remember we continued to undo everything, and redo the puzzle a few times... the 2hours spent at mcdonald's was worthwhile...I remember.

Hi! Happy New Year!

Dee Khang is joshuaboy's dialect name, hanyu pinyin is Zhi Kang. I like Zhi as it means wisdom, and Kang means healthy.

I delivered joshuaboy at week 32, pre-matured, weighing only 1.75kg. Hence the name Kang, as what mattered most to pappy & I at that time was to wish that joshuaboy grow up developmentally healthy & strong.

I asked joshuaboy," What's your name?"
He replied, "Dee Khang..."

I like this way of response. Hence, I decided to name this blog dee-khang...

This blog will write about joshuaboy's
A. learning process
1. in school with teachers;
2. at home with mahmmyboy

B. bonding time with pappy

C. special outing with mahmmyboy (every Fri is a special day...)

sophie's mummy gave me the inspiration to create this new blog & hopefully will be a more organised one...
